18.07.2016 23:42

The first day of the Summer Campus has successfully started with the lecture on banking industry prospects by Chairman of Managing Board, Chief Executive Officer, General Director (Otkritie Holding JSC) Ruben Abelovich Aganbegyan. Starting with questions to the auditorium, the speaker managed to create friendly atmosphere and working climate, what has ultimately contributed to the great deal of counter questions and discussion.

As the Hall “Europe” venue was filling with the participants, who hurried to take their seats, the wave of interest and knowledge anxiety started to spread.

In spite of the fact that the theme of the lecture was “Banking of the Future”, what allegedly required special training and skills at least in the professional vocabulary, the narration was not difficult to comprehend, turning the first lecture into sort of talk-in, where every student was free to ask any questions related to the topic.

The main idea of the lecture was to provide basic information about current situation in the banking industry in whole, however the speaker also touched upon contemporary issues and future problems. Moreover, Ruben Abelovich provided a list of possible solutions and showed the participants how to avoid these controversial situations in future.

Nowadays we live in the world of growing pace of life, ground-breaking technologies and universal cybernation. According to the speaker, this period is called “The Digital Age”. As the specialist in the banking sphere, speaker made clear that the development of banks should remain up-to-date with evolving technology. That is why the banking industry needs revolution, the radical turn that modern smartphones, credit cards and mobile banking can implement.

Today the participants of the Summer Campus have shown not only diversity in nationalities and countries they are from, but also the diversity in the ways of thinking. The fascinating variety of questions was asked today. Unemployment, cyber-attacks, pros and cons of mobile banking, matters of privacy. And it is only a short list of issues that were raised.
