RANEPA Summer Campus is a unique annual international educational project for young people, whose training program consists of lectures and interactive sessions with leading Russian and foreign scientists, state officials and world-class businessmen.
This project was created at the initiative of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan. The mission of the Campus is creating a platform for communication of young talented people and forming a new generation of intellectual elite.
The program of the Campus includes not only educational program, but also a wide range of entertainment activities, including a sightseeing tour to Kazan and nearby, different games and creativity competitions.
Year after year, RANEPA Summer Campus attains the status of a more significant international youth platform for discussions on topical issues of the present time. In 2017, the geography of the participants became even wider - the Campus united representatives of 32 countries of the world.
The theme of the Campus in 2017 is "Entrepreneurship: turning idea into success". Within the framework of the project, the participants attended lectures and master classes of leading Russian and foreign experts, took part in trainings, and prepared projects in the teams led by an international team of tutors and moderators. A special part in the program was the Day of Sustainable Development, where the participants were able not only to get acquainted with the key goals in the field of sustainable development, specified by the UN, but also to learn how such large companies as Unilever implement the indexes of these goals in practice.
Herman Gref, President and Chairman of the Board of Sberbank of Russia; Marina Zhigalova-Ozkan, CEO of the Walt Disney Company CIS; Clyde Tuggle, Senior Vice President of The Coca-Cola Company; Alexey Malinovsky, Head of MasterCard in Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Armenia; Preston McAfee, Chief Economist at Microsoft; Alexander Ivlev, Managing Partner of EY in Russia; Gabriel di Bella, Head of the IMF permanent mission in Russia; Nikolay Uskov, Chief Editor of the Russian edition of Forbes magazine; Igor Nosov, General Director of the SEZ "Innopolis"; Tina Kandelaki, General Producer of "Match TV" and many others acted as experts of the RANEPA Summer Campus 2017.
In addition to the training program, the participants of the Campus visited the sights of the Republic of Tatarstan.
A big international event, an educational forum for the best Russian and foreign students - RANEPA Summer Campus - was held for the fifth time in the Republic of Tatarstan on 16-27July.
The core motto of RANEPA Summer Campus is “Territory of opportunities: Ideas. Values. Knowledge”. The Campus 2016 gathered 220 students, including 57 foreign from 28 countries; the classes were delivered by world-class experts.
Among the experts of RANEPA Summer Campus 2016 were: Sergei Naryshkin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation; Ruben Aganbegyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Director General, Otkritie Holding OJSC; Arkady Dvorkovich, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation; Clyde С. Tuggle, Senior Vice President, The Coca Cola Company; Timothy S. Mescon, Senior Vice President, AACSB International; Gabriel Di Bella, Resident Representative in Moscow, International Monetary Fund; Sergey Kravchenko, President, Boeing Russia/CIS; Davron Mukhamadiev, Head, Moscow Regional Representation of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent societies, and many others.
The theme of the Summer Campus – 2015 was "Territory of opportunities: Ideas. Values. Knowledge." The special place in the program of the Summer Campus was devoted to personal growth and development of young specialists, as well as actualization of one’s own values and social competencies that influence the competitiveness of a person in the modern labor market. The results of the Campus were 12 projects – the original model of the future state. Participants of the Campus directed by the tutors performed by Russian and foreign experts, analyzed existing ideas and values and created a model of the state where the worth of every person will be the basis of public good and knowledge will be the real basis for personal growth and professional effectiveness.
Within 11 working days over 60 of the best international and Russian experts in the field of public administration, international management and project activities gave a talk to the participants. The key speakers were Herman Gref, CEO, Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank of Russia; Sergey Kravchenko, Vice President of Boeing International, President of Boeing Russia/CIS; Clyde Tuggle, Senior Vice President, Chief Public Affairs and Communications Officer of The Coca-Cola Company; Kirill Androsov, Chairman of the Board of Directors in PJSC Aeroflot; Alexander Ivlev, EY Country Managing Partner, Russia; Alexey Komissarov, Director of Industry Development Fund, and many others.
The third Summer Campus in Tatarstan became one of the brightest events of 2014, which put together 239 students from 22 regions of Russia, including 33 foreign participants and 74 students of the Republic of Tatarstan. Within 7 working days over 40 outstanding international and Russian experts in the fields of education, public administration, international development and project activities gave a talk to the Campus participants. The results of the Campus were 6 projects - education models of the future. Campus Participants analyzed the current state of the global education system and tried to forecast its structural and market changes, which may lead to the significant shifts in the approaches to educational technologies. All the projects were presented to the expert committee, headed by Alexander Klimov, Russian Deputy Minister of Education and Science.
Among the Campus experts were Mikhail Abyzov, Minister for Open Government Affairs of the Russian Federation; Bikas Joshi, Senior Representative of the IMF, Russia; Kirill Ignatyev, Chair of the Board of Directors of Russian Investments Commercial Group. Apart from that, the students of the Summer Campus 2014 enjoyed the unique opportunity to participate in an open discussion with Igor Shuvalov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.
The second Summer Campus was held in 2013. Students took part in different trainings, seminars, business games and as a result presented group projects in the field of social development, modernization of youth policy, and innovative business ideas. In particular, the projects of social adaptation and employment of deaf people, ex-convicts and orphanage graduates were presented to the expert committee. Moreover, participants developed several projects in the field of computer technology. The Campus program was aimed at the realization of intellectual and creative abilities of the participants, as well as on the promotion of healthy lifestyles. In addition to educational potential, it included a table tennis competition, billiards and chess tournament, which enabled the participants to have rest before the defense of final projects. Apart from that, students of the Summer Campus 2013 had the opportunity to attend the Universiade, which at that time was held in Kazan.

“RANEPA Summer Campus – territory of opportunities” for the first time was held in July 2012 and gathered 300 students. Within the framework of the project young people, interested in politics, economics and innovations, could make a dialog with Russian government officials and business representatives, as well as international experts. Large number of trainings on project development and promotion of start-ups were held and the participants of the Campus had an opportunity to discuss prospects for the future development of public service. Among the speakers conducting courses of lectures and master classes were: Silvester John, a Vice-President of SIFE Worldwide; Ruben Aganbegyan, Member of the Board of Directors of Otkritie Financial Corporation; Yermolai Solzhenitsyn, the Managing Partner of McKinsey Russia; Leonid Gozman, Director for Humanitarian Projects of JSC RUSNANO.
