Corporate Volunteering and Sustainable Development (VIDEO)
Development Director of Young Group Social Yevgenia Kuznetsova’s presentation was the highlight of July 20 at the International Summer Campus. She told the students about the connection between corporate volunteering and sustainable development goals.
Yvgenia Kuznetsova offered the audience a number of practices and cases in the field of corporate volunteering and cited Russian and foreign examples of volunteering and how corporate volunteering practices relate to sustainable development goals.
Earlier, Yevgenia Kuznetsova explained, there were several types of volunteering: school and student volunteering and the so-called silver volunteering (older people). Now, because of the significant gap between young volunteers and silver volunteers, a new category has emerged – corporate volunteers. According to the speaker, corporate volunteering is more than voluntary involvement in the company’s social programs to increase employee loyalty; it is also about sustainable business development.
Thanks to corporate volunteer projects, we can see how this tool can improve a company's image and boost its financial performance. As Yevgeniya Kuznetsova noted later, due to the geographical diversity of RANEPA Summer Campus participants, they offered much more interesting solutions than conventional ones.
