More than 200 participants from 35 countries graduated from RANEPA International Summer Campus
More than 200 participants graduated from the Seventh RANEPA Summer Campus held in Innopolis, Tatarstan, on July 15-26 this year. This information was provided by Dmitry Sokolov, Press Secretary, RANEPA, to TASS on Thursday.
“214 people from 35 countries, including more than 100 foreigners, took part in the RANEPA Summer Campus. This is an unprecedented number of foreigners,” he said.
Entrepreneurship in Culture
Entrepreneurship in Culture and Entertainment was the main topic of the RANEPA Summer Campus. Disney and Soyuzmultfilm are among the program’s anchor partners. The final case was devoted to the idea of promoting the RANEPA Summer Campus using marketing and PR tools; the student teams defended their projects on this topic.
"In general, most groups of 17-19 persons guided by experienced mentors and moderators prepared these cases. They focused on strengthening of promotion in social networks, the use by the participants of the ambassador status – many of them were ready to become this RANEPA Summer Campus’ promoters worldwide,” said Dmitry Sokolov.
According to RANEPA Vice-Rector Ivan Fedotov, the internationality is the key particular feature this year. "We have an unprecedented number of participating countries, this has never happened. Our entire RANEPA Summer Campus was in English. That's perfect actually, because the multicultural environment we created here gives a completely amazing experience for our participants. Not only as the competences of the educational program go, but primarily as a result of the communication. The experience of communication with different cultures and nationalities cannot be overestimated,” he said.
“The RANEPA Summer Campus showed the effectiveness of Russian education to students from foreign countries,” added Ivan Fedotov. According to him, it is the main effect of the educational program. "We show to the students from different countries that Russian education can be extremely effective," he explained noting that the “wow” effect is achieved through modern and unique educational efforts.
Sam Potolicchio, Professor of the RANEPA, founder and the President of Preparing Global Leaders Foundation, falls in with this opinion. "This will help [to show Russia’s standpoint], the RANEPA Summer Campus’ alumni will return with these projects, with these ideas, with the understanding of how the Russian education works, and will communicate this information to their countries," he said.
More than 1,500 students graduated from the RANEPA Summer Campus in 7 years. Fedotov announced the emergence of the Program’s Alumni Club; working on its establishment will begin in autumn. “This Alumni Club will be international, and it is very good.” The graduates of the RANEPA Summer Campus leave as our ambassadors, the ambassadors of our ideas, values. Of course, it is a very valuable material, we should track it by all means and monitor their careers, educational growth, and so forth,” said Fedotov.
The RANEPA Summer Campus is an annual educational project that brings together talented and promising students from all over Russia and abroad. The project, as conceived by its authors, creates the necessary conditions for cross-cultural interaction between young people and the formation of a new generation of intellectual elite. The project was initiated by RANEPA and Tatarstan Government.
The organizers of RANEPA Summer Campus include RANEPA, the Government of Tatarstan, and the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia, with the support of ACIG Group of Companies.
