Maria Kulizhnikova crowned Miss RANEPA Summer Campus 2019
On the evening of July 20, one of the highlights of the 2019 International Summer Campus took place – 12 participants competed for the Miss Summer Campus title. Each of them brilliantly presented herself to the public; Maria Kulizhnikova, a RANEPA student from St. Petersburg, was awarded the main title.
The Miss Summer Campus contest included two rounds. The first round involved prepared shows where the participants presented themselves and demonstrated their talents; in the second round, they were to answer the presenter's questions. The jury included Summer Campus Director Natalya Demidova; her deputies – Timur Bakhtiarov and Head of RANEPA Youth Policy Department Alexei Spirin; and Dmitry Sokolov, Head of RANEPA Press Service.
Lyaysan Tagirova from team No. 6 was the first to present her musical show. Kristina Pyatakova represented her team with an incendiary song. Angelina Kulagina from team No. 4 played the guitar and sang The Cranberries’ hit, Zombie. Bulgarian participant Nevena Doncheva performed a beautiful and energetic dance accompanied by her team No. 12. The representative of team No. 11 Viktoria Shakalova did a fascinating oriental dance. The performance of Julia Udalova from team No. 7 was also excellent. Next was an incredibly beautiful song by Maria Kulizhnikova from team No. 9. Team No. 10 was represented by Anastasia Makarova who recited a poem and performed a dance with the support of her team. Julia Shibanovafrom the team No. 1 also recited a poem about the preciousness of life accompanied by the piano.
Nigerian student Linda Dei-Awuku from team No. 2 performed a beautiful song and an incendiary dance. The representative of team No. 8 Dina Yakhina used some of the new skills she learned at the Summer Campus telling about herself with the help of gamification – the students could answer her questions on their smartphones, and at the end she shared an animated video she made. Round 1 ended with several different dances performed by Polina Gridneva from team No.5 who rocked the house with her performance.
In the second round, the participants were asked to express and substantiate their opinions answering individual questions. Following the results of both rounds, Natalia Demidova announced the winners in 12 categories:
- Audience Choice Award – Anastasia Makarova;
- Miss Fashion – Julia Udalova;
- Miss Inner Beauty – Nevena Doncheva;
- Miss Charisma – Dina Yakhina;
- Miss Mystery – Angelina Kulagina;
- Miss Smile – Lyaysan Tagirova;
- Miss Energy – Kristina Pyatakova;
- Miss Romance – Julia Shibanova;
- Miss Cool – Linda Dei-Awuku;
- Miss Dance – Viktoria Shakalova;
- Miss Charming – Polina Gridneva.
Maria Kulizhnikova, the winner of the competition, was crowned Miss RANEPA Summer Campus 2019; she definitely was not expecting this, and was totally overwhelmed. Festive atmosphere reigned throughout the evening, and the audience vigorously supported the participants.
The International Summer Campus of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) is a unique annual educational project for best students of Russian and foreign universities. The Campus curriculum comprises lectures and interactive sessions with leading Russian and foreign academics, government employees and world-class business executives. RANEPA Rector Vladimir Mau, leading Russian and foreign experts, Russian and foreign business leaders, high-ranking officials and civil servants will traditionally speak at the Summer Campus.
