Students from the Department of Public Administration take part in the parliamentary debate
On July 22 the participants of the Department of Public Administration took part in the parliamentary debate. The students were divided into groups of 6. The first group represented the interests of the Government position, the second one – of the opposition. The discussion focused on 5 legislative initiatives: concerning the system of mandatory assignment for postgraduates, inserting an "against all" ballot option, cancelling free education, ban on social networks in emergencies and mobilization of women over 23 without children in the army. Following the discussion moderators analyzed the participants’ proposals, provided their expert assessment and told about expert management rhetoric.
"Parliamentary debate is an integrating educational format requiring lots of skills, abilities and functions. To hold your ground reasonably and comprehensively during 5 minutes, on the one hand, substantial analytic base is required and, on the other hand, logical thinking, ability to build well-reasoned logic chains, communicative, rhetoric and team work skills", said Director of the RANEPA Krasnogorsk Branch Dmitry Kaisin, the debate moderator.
