Students of the Department of Public and Social Projects visit a lecture of Mariya Mchedlova, Professor of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia and Visiting Professor of the Institute of Political Studies of Bordeaux (France), University of Paris

The expert talked about system of values of young people: dreams, goals and methods of achieving success. Mariya Mchedlova remarked, "We get a lot from the systems of values are handed down from generation to generation." In her report, the lector quoted the data of the survey performed among the young audience. According to this data, most young people of today strive to have a good income, good health and to live in a fairer and reasonably organized society. There was also a return of labour value. The expert stressed, "You are ready to act and oriented on successful achievement of results – it is a distinctive characteristic of the today’s generation."

Mariya Mchedlova also emphasized the importance of developing metaqualification as an essential element of human capital.  The expert believes that the ability to quickly react to the topical challenges, constantly learn something new, concede ambiguity and be able to adapt to its conditions comes to the fore.

After the lecture, there was a question/answer session, which gave the students an opportunity to ask the speaker about the issues they were interested in.  

Mariya Mchedlova said, "The students are very competent and motivated. It can be seen from the level of the questions asked. The world of today is inconceivable without knowledge, Continuous training is extremely important. I wish the participants not to be close-minded, to be able to get used to new situations, to be adaptable and of course to learn foreign languages."
