Sergei Naryshkin and Farid Mukhametshin visit Summer Campus of the Presidential Academy not far from Kazan
Sergei Naryshkin, Chairman of the State Duman, and Farid Mukhametshin, Chairman of the State Council, are honorary guests of the Summer Campus of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration which gathers the best students from Russia and foreign countries not far from Kazan for the second year in a row. The Summer Campus organizers remark that summer holiday season opens opportunities for successful and motivated young people who are ready to take part in the events facilitating their development, discuss important economic, social and business processes and initiate social and economic projects. For the second year running, the best students of the Russian Presidential Academy and Tatarstan’s universities and participants of the Annual All-Russian Contest "Sustainable Future of Russia" who have successfully passed a multistage selection are going to accumulate practical skills and knowledge towards their personal development. The Summer Campus 2013 will gather more than 300 students willing to implement their ideas and develop managerial competences (over 5000 people submitted their applications for participation). A unique educational format of the platform includes a series of trainings and workshops by high-profile representatives of federal and regional ministries, professors and experts of the leading global universities and specialists from major corporations.
Sergei Naryshkin talked to the Summer Campus participants on one of the open terraces of the Ski sports recreation complex with a picturesque view to the Island-city Sviyazhsk. Presenting the Chairman of the State Duma to the participants, Vladimir Mau reminded that Sergei Naryshkin is also a member of the Supervisory Board and Academic Advisor of the Summer Campus.
Talking to the students, the speaker of the lower house of the Russia Parliament, expressed a belief that the university graduates specializing in state and municipal management will be in high demand and find effective use of the acquired knowledge and skills. "Such specialists are in high demand now, but they will be even more needed tomorrow and in the near future. The system of public and municipal management is constantly improved, so it is very good that reputed universities purposefully train such specialists." Sergei Naryshkin expressed gratitude to the Presidential Academy and Tatarstan Government for implementation of interesting and useful project – Summer Campus opening wide prospects for the talented young people.
Students from different Russian cities and even a female student from the USA asked Sergei Naryshkin a lot of questions. Chairman of the State Duma withed the US student to come back in excellent mood and good impressions about Russia. Vladimir Mau remarked, "Usually, it happens like this: people come to us with certain expectations and come back with very good impressions."
In the course of his speech, the speaker of the State Duma mentioned the work of the Legislator’s Council of the Federal Assembly. He remarked that its work started very actively and professionally. Farid Mukhametshin also confirmed it. To make this authority’s activity even more effective, the Chairmane of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan suggested that examining legislative initiatives approved by the majority of a large number of regional parliaments should be made obligatory. At present, when examining drafts of federal laws, the State Duma does not take into account the percentage of positive approvals of the legislative assemblies of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Sergei Naryshkin agreed that the Rules of the State Duma really don’t contain such a norm and promised to think about this proposal.
In his turn, Vladimir Mau thanked the Chairman of the State Duma for giving the students of his Academy an opportunity to have internship in the Russian Parliament. He stresses the Summer Campus’s mission is to form effective management teams consisting of the students, to prepare and defend projects oriented on modernization of the public and state administration system.
Today, Engel Fattakhov, Deputy Vice Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, and other officials also visited the Summer Campus. The Summer Campus of the Presidential Academy will start the day after tomorrow and will work for 10 days. The program of the Campus provides for division into 3 departments: State administration and development, Business and entrepreneurship, Social projects. The educational program of each department will include master classes, open lectures, project sessions, business games, championships and simulators.
