Vice Rector, RANEPA
In 1966 Carol Leonard graduated from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities with a B.A. in Russian Area Studies.
She received her PhD in Russian History from Indiana University Bloomington on 1968, and her Doctorate Degree in1974.
In 1988-1990 she was a Visiting Fellow for Graduate Training in Economics at the California Institute of Technology (USA).
From 1993 to 1996 she worked as resident adviser for the US Treasury to the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.
From 1997 to 2010 she was a professor at the Oxford University (Great Britain).
Carol Leonard delivered lectures at Lafayette College (USA), at the State University of New York (USA), at the Lomonosov Moscow State University and at the Eurasian National University (Kazakhstan).
In 2010-2011 she worked as a visiting professor (International English-Language Masters Program) and Director of the Center of Russian Studies at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA).
In September 2012 Ms Leonard was appointed Vice Rector of the RANEPA.
She is the author of several books and articles including Agrarian Reform in Russia: The Road from Serfdom (2010, Cambridge University Press), Privatization in the Russian Transition (2012, Routledge), The Reign of Peter III of Russia (1993, Indiana University Press).
