Peter Kaznacheev graduated from the Lomonosov Moscow State University with a PhD in political philosophy.
He received a Master’s degree in international economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Washington, DC and in Bologna (Italy).
Since 2005, he has been a visiting professor and lecturer at the Russian Academy of National Economy in Moscow.
He worked as an Advisor to the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Property of the Russian Parliament.
Later he worked as a consultant at the World Bank’s Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency.
Between 2002 and 2005 Mr. Kaznacheev worked in the Russian Presidential Administration as a Senior Advisor to the Chief Economic Aid to the President dealing with economic and energy issues and served as Assistant Representative at the Group of Eight (G8) and was responsible for coordinating the process of preparation for G8 summits.
He worked as a Business Development Advisor with British Petroleum where he specialized in new business origination for the company in Russia and Central Asia.
Peter Kaznacheev currently manages Khaznah Strategies, a London-based consulting and business development firm that focuses on natural resources projects in emerging markets.
Since 2004 he has been a member of the Mont Pelerin Society, an international association of economists and academic scholars. He is the founder of several non-profit educational initiatives including Cato.ru and InLiberty.ru, as well as Mercurius Society.
He is a frequent panellist at international events and an author of numerous publications.
